French Tutoring
The college classes I've taught: LF 111 (Beginners), LF 112 (Advanced Beginners), LF 211 (intermediate), LF 212 (advanced), LF 303 (composition and conversation), LF 304 (advanced composition), LF 306 (reading a novel)
French I Tutoring
I've taught both complete beginners and advanced beginners, using communicative and project-based textbooks. Most of these students were taking classes as a college foreign language requirement; some of them were struggling to balance out their major classes with this "intruder" class. But I've also had a few students who began taking it as a requirement, but went on to study abroad and graduated with a minor in French. Whether you just want to get by, or you want to grow - I'm here to help you.
French II Tutoring
The students I've encountered in my intermediate and advanced classes came from different backgrounds - some had only taken two semesters of French 1, the others had studied it all through elementary school. The biggest challenge in teaching this level was to find balance. If the pace in your French II is too quick, or if you feel like you need more challenge... maybe you just want some extra practice - I'm here for you.
Conversational French Tutoring
In distant past, French and English were foreign languages to me and I know how frustrating a lack of conversation skills can be. Through individual sessions during my office hours, many students overcame that block that kicks in when you need to speak up. Having studied French phonetics, I can also help you improve your pronunciation. There is nothing more rewarding than hearing a student unravel the beautiful melody of a French sentence. Let's talk!
