Fun Facts
One fun fact about me is that I love to run! In high school I was on the track and cross country team and I still run almost every day!
About Me
I am a first year graduate student at Fordham University at the Lincoln Center Campus! I am studying to become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York and I hope to one day work in a college counseling center. This past May I graduated from Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Early Childhood Education. I was on the Dean's List seven semesters and I graduated as the top Psychology student in my class.
Experience
I love any opportunity to work with students one-on-one. In college I volunteered with the Big Brother Big Sister Program at the YMCA in Brockton and many afternoons I would spend part of my time with my "Little" helping her with homework. Additionally, as an Early Childhood Education minor I have had experience working in classrooms ranging from preschool to third grade.
Approach
My approach to tutoring is to create a supportive environment for the student that I am working with. I try to help students recognize their own strengths and then teach them skills that can help them with areas that they may struggle with.

Psychology Tutoring
I have taken numerous Psychology courses including GeneralPsych, Developmental Psych I and II, Health Psych, Abnormal Psych, Theories of Personally, Theories of Learning, Psychology Statistics, Research Methods in Psychology, Theories of Counseling, and Counseling Practicum I and II. I also worked on a two research projects with psychology faculty members, one was a breast cancer study at Umass Memorial Medical School and the other was the development of a clinician's manual for a food addiction treatment program. I also graduated as the top psychology student in my class.
Study Skills Tutoring
I have always been an organized and responsible student and over the years I have developed several strategies that I have found to be really beneficial in improving my academic performance. I would love the opportunity to share these strategies with other students!
Writing Tutoring
Almost every course that I took in college has helped me to become a clear and organized writer. I can help students learn techniques that will help them to organize their ideas before beginning an assignment as well as how to structure writing assignment. I can also help students learn how to proofread their own assignments and common mistakes to look out for.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I have always been an avid reader and over the course of my academic career I have become skilled at pulling out the key points from readings. All of my college courses were reading intensive and my current graduate courses even more so. I can help students learn how to use sections of the reading that they understand to make sense of sections that may be a bit challenging for them.
Religion Tutoring
I have attended a Catholic school since I was in kindergarten, and continuing through high school and college. I have a strong understanding of the Bible and the teachings of Catholicism. I would love to share this knowledge with any student learning about Catholicism. Unfortunately I am not as knowledgeable about other religions and would not be the best tutor for students taking other religion courses.
