Fun Facts
I have an unrelenting fascination with nature's patterns that I satisfy through a life-long passion of backpacking/hiking/climbing. My most notable hiking successes are completing segments of the Appalachian Trail and Pacific Crest Trail. My wife and I are entranced with traveling and are committed to traveling the world. I have completed several half-marathons and would like to, at some point in the future, complete a marathon or triathlon.
About Me
I am a junior in the Chemical Engineering program at the University of Kansas where I pride myself on high academic achievement as illustrated by my membership in Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society. I am also pursuing a minor in mathematics, which I am considering extending to a second major. I envision myself entering either medical school or a PhD program in the future. Also, I have a powerful objective of becoming a business owner or even a chief executive.
Experience
I have a Bachelors of Science in biology and chemistry that I earned in 2014 from the University of Kansas (KU) followed by acceptance into the bioengineering graduate program at KU in 2015 where I also studied science/kansas/olathe">computer science. I am a member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society, Delta Epsilon Mu Professional Fraternity, I have served on the engineering student council and student senate, and have acted as a tutor/mentor for several programs and as a Teacher Assistant in multiple courses at KU.
Approach
My approach to tutoring is to maximize the independence and autonomy of the student. I view learning as a dynamic process where the learning strategy must change with time and content. The strengthening of these learning strategies is crucial for success. I emphasize self-regulation so that the student's understanding reaches a point where I am no longer needed. I highlight the commonalities between subjects in order to show deeper connections that ordinarily increase the motivation to learn.

I have completed a fundamentals of accounting course with an A. I was a recipient of a scholarship that invited non-business majors into pursuing business studies through a minor. I also received a recommendation from a distinguished professor for admittance into the masters of accounting program at KU.
Biochemistry Tutoring
I achieved an A in a Biochemistry course which spanned all major topics of biochemistry including kinetics and circuit analysis. This subject was fundamental for my studies of cell and molecular biology and was required by the curriculum. I have provided tutoring for biochemical subject matter for multiple students in the past for KU.

I successfully completed a Bachelors of Science in Biology with a 4.0 GPA.This endeavor demanded completing several high level biology courses. I have tutored for many of these higher-order classes including Microbiology and Mammalian Physiology.
