About Me
I am a junior biology, pre-med major at Villanova University. When I graduate, I hope to go to medical school. As of right now, I think I want to specialize in psychiatry and would like to go to Tufts University for medical school, but I have plenty of time to change my mind!
My previous experience in philadelphia">tutoring includes high school math. I tutored prealgebra, algebra I and II, and precalculus to three students ranging from their sophomore to their senior years of high school. I had to prepare each of these students for a yearly standardized test in these areas. In college, I have led study groups in chemistry and organic chemistry. As a philadelphia">tutor for frog philadelphia">tutoring, I would love to expand my philadelphia">tutoring subjects and cannot wait to work with new students!
When I was in high school, I found it extremely difficult to focus and do well in classes where the teacher did not establish a comfortable relationship with the student. I found myself afraid to ask questions, which really hurt my understanding in that subject area. As a philadelphia">tutor, I think it is extremely important to establish a level of comfort between the student and I. I believe a student learns the most when they feel comfortable to ask questions and give feedback about my ideas and lesson plans. This helps me better myself as well as engage the student and increase understanding in that subject. Now that I am in college I understand the importance of good note-taking for success in any subject and I believe it is important to pass on some of these ideas to the student.
