I love the outdoors and art. I do animal paintings for cash and for fun. My husband and I love to camp and travel to national parks. I have two dogs and love my home state, Indiana!

About Me

I am laboratory instructor and Biology Master’s Student at IUPUI with the long-term goal of teaching university-level science courses. My enthusiasm for knowledge is supported by communication, problem-solving skills, and information technology skills. Teaching allows me to share my acquired knowledge and positively contribute to the lives of my students. As a result of my reverence and enthusiasm for education, as well as my teaching experience, I am confident that I can help you succeed!

Experience

I am currently instructing my 6th semester of college-level biology laboratory courses. Teaching at IUPUI has given me the experience and enthusiasm needed to guide students in mastering challenging concepts. In addition to my teaching experience, I tutored Developmental Biology for a semester and mentored high school students through the Summer Experience for the Economically Disadvantaged (SEED) for two summers. I also graduated top-ten in my high school class!

Approach

I have always excelled in school because of good study habits and have acquired the skill of deciphering which material is going to be covered on exams. Teaching college course and writing exams have only strengthened this ability. I will examine the material you need help with and determine what is most important for you to study in order to get a good grade! I am also am very good at talking to my students and getting an idea of what is holding them back from understanding a concept.
