Fun Facts
I am originally from the east cost but I have spent the past decade on the west coast, more specifically New Mexico and Arizona. I just moved back to the east coast this summer.
I love games! Board games are my favorite, I play weekly with a few of my friends!
About Me
I received my Masters in Psychology in 2015 and moved to Phoenix shortly after. I moved to Chattanooga a couple of months ago. I start working at the Montessori school this fall. I will be a one on one assistant during class time, and the director of aftercare in the evening. I am very excited about working in this environment!
I was a teaching assistant and adviser in graduate school, and loved helping undergraduates.
Experience
During graduate school I worked as a Teaching Assistant and Undergraduate Adviser. I worked with frog tutoring while I lived in AZ. During my undergraduate I worked at the New Mexico Family Resource Center, in the childcare and child education section.
In High school I was on the Debate team, the Southwest Academic team, Drama club president, and played the Trumpet in band for 8 years.
I graduated High School, Undergraduate, and Graduate school with over a 3.8 GPA
Approach
With my background in psychology, I understand that learning is different for everyone, and some subjects are harder to understand than others. I also know how to communicate effectively to individuals of all ages. Kids in Elementary school need to be tutored differently than an undergraduate or a highschooler.
I think its important to figure out how you learn, then tackle every problem using that method. I honestly believe anyone can learn anything if they are given the tools they need!
