This summer, I traveled to ten Mediterranean countries during my study abroad with Semester at Sea. Consequently, I have cultivated an unquenchable thirst for adventure and I am always looking for my next life-changing escapade!
Soccer is another one of my passions. Be it playing, coaching, or simply watching my favorite team Arsenal FC, I cannot get enough of the game.
About Me
I am a second-year Neuroscience major at Ohio State University, with a GPA of 3.833, making it onto the Dean's List both semesters. I serve as a dialogue moderator for the student organization "Sustained Dialogue," initiating campus projects to make individuals of all social identities feel accepted. I also perform cognitive control research with a professor and serve as vice-president of OSU Indoor Soccer. Following graduation, I aspire to become either a professor or professional soccer manager (or both).
Despite having never held an official position, I have tutored fellow students for years. Throughout high school and my freshman year of college, I frequently assisted classmates with homework, projects, and study habits. My area of expertise is mathematics, although I have helped with nearly every subject from English to Chemistry! The satisfaction I feel helping others achieve success has only fortified my desire to pursue columbus">tutoring in an official capacity, growing exponentially since moving off campus.
I make learning real and applicable. In all of my educational experiences, I have struggled with drab, by-the-book, theoretical learning. Yet, once the concepts are applied in the real world, I grasp them. When columbus">tutoring, I deliberately guide the student’s understanding by connecting relatable concepts to the abstract. Moreover, I understand the importance of individualization. Every student is unique. They possess distinct strengths, learning styles, and personalities. Because no universal path to comprehension exists, I consciously navigate each person’s cognitive trail. I get to know each student and use her or his fortes to tailor my columbus">tutoring style. As a result, the student develops a deep, sustainable grasp on the material not gained from traditional education.
