Fun Facts

I seriously enjoy traveling! When I was younger, I used to travel often with my grandparents around the country. I got accustomed to seeing new things, meeting new people, and always, always trying new foods! I think that the best part of traveling is hunting down places that are off of the beaten trail! That way you can always experience what makes that place home to the natives. My goal is to travel as often as I can to as many places as I can.

About Me

I graduated from Chicago State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Cum Laude), and was listed as a Dean's List scholar for 3 consecutive years! Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Non-profit Management before going on to pursue a terminal degree in Psychology and Education. Learning is my passion, and I am most passionate about the connection it allows me to have with my students and mentees. I am looking forward to meeting you!

Experience

As a previous Learning Assistant at Chicago State University, my primary responsibility was to ensure students are actively engaged, retaining information, and learning in new ways. In addition to this, I also served as a Research Assistant for the Department of Physics, Chemistry, and Engineering specifically developing new ways to engage students in the online classroom. While the majority of my work involves tutoring and teaching STEM subjects, I also tutor students in other specializations.

Approach

My approach is to develop critical thinking skills in my students so that they can transcend any obstacle academia may throw their way. As a child, I struggled with learning because I learned a little differently than other students in my classroom; and that is ok! When I work with students I help them develop study skills and strategies that work for them personally and their particular learning style.
