About Me
I am a 26 year old TCU alum, I graduated in December 2011. I am currently working as a claims examiner with Wellington Claims Service while going for my Masters in Civil Engineering at Southern Methodist University. My favorite subjects are math, science, history, and architecture. I enjoy learning as much new information as I can and helping others is a big part of my everyday life.
I started dallas">tutoring my younger siblings when I was in high school. I first began dallas">tutoring officially over the summer of 2010 with Allegiance Learning Solutions where I partnered with one other dallas">tutor to teach math to a class of 15 students at Nichols junior high school in Arlington. I then was hired by Group Excellence to dallas">tutor high school students in preparation for the TAKS test. I worked the after-school program at Northside High School in Fort Worth for the fall and spring semester. Since then I have had over 10 clients ranging from 1st grade through continuing education graduates who I have worked with since the summer of 2011. I have been most successful at helping students to not only learn but also to retain their new knowledge.
My approach to dallas">tutoring and mentoring is to LEAD BY EXAMPLE. I do this by learning what methods help the individual student most and then demonstrating step-by-step how I would suggest attacking the problem first. I then help the student to identify and focus on his/her problem areas in order to maximize their comfortableness and minimize mistakes.
