Fun Facts
I love solving puzzles and watching game shows. Working on math problems is like a solving puzzle for me, and I am doing it for fun. I love walking, dancing, singing, and watching movies. I traveled to several different countries and love learning foreign languages. I like board and card games. Since I learned bridge, which is a card game of logic and probabilities, I stopped playing all other card games! The most challenging tutoring I have done is tutoring my own children!
About Me
I graduated with honors with BS in Mathematics at the maryland">University of Maryland Baltimore County. My education also includes the equivalent of a Master of Science degree in Hydrogeological Engineering from the University of Belgrade. I enjoy tutoring and passing on my knowledge and lifelong passion for learning to others.
Experience
I have tutored all math subjects from elementary to college level in a tutoring center, in person, and online. Working in individual and group settings, with children of all ages and abilities allowed me to implement different learning methods. I enjoyed preparing children for the gifted and talented entrance tests for elementary and middle school as well as SAT college entrance exam. My competitive streak allowed me to prepare children for math olympiad competitions.
Approach
As a child, I excelled in school and was a participant in many mathematics, physics, and poetry reciting competitions. I want to pass on the drive to complete the tasks to my students. My motto is to understand before you memorize. I ask students a lot of questions to give them as few prompts as possible to help them reach a goal of independently doing the tasks. While getting to know a student I adjust my methods of teaching depending on their knowledge, learning style, and abilities.
