Fun Facts

I really enjoy playing basketball, going to the gym, and talking sports. I occasionally like to program on my free time. I moved to Albuquerque in June 2016 from Seattle, WA. It has been quite the weather and culture change, but Albuquerque has definitely grown onto me. I enjoy the various outdoor activities here like hiking and biking.

About Me

I am a 24 year old electrical engineer at Sandia National Laboratories as I just graduated with my Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the washington">University of Washington. I earned this degree in June 2017 with a cumulative GPA of 3.75. I was a tutor at many different places for the majority of my college career and I really enjoyed it. I would like to become a tutor to help students succeed in their studies and to view education as a step towards success.

Experience

I was a Supplemental Instruction Leader at Green River Community College as I facilitated student learning and helped students better understand concepts or applications of course content. I was also a TRiO Tutor at the same college as I held 1:1 Mathematics and Physics tutoring for financially, physically, and mentally disabled students. Then I took on a Refugee Assistant position at Kent Phoenix Academy where I tutored and mentored grade school students that were refugees from overseas.

Approach

As a child, I always enjoyed my math classes and it usually came easy to me. From the various tutoring positions I have had, I've learned to be patient with all students. Patience is the trait that great tutors, like myself, have. The second things I like to emphasize is confidence. I always encourage my tutees to be confident because it's all about believing in yourself. The combination of patience and confidence has brought me success and I assure it will bring my tutees success as well.
