About Me
My professional experience includes working as a Transitional Youth Case Manager for a county contracted mental health agency. For six years, I served as a mental health liaison between a community-based mental health clinic and schools throughout the San Fernando Valley. As part of the clinical treatment team, I was actively involved in IEP team meetings for students with learning disabilities that presented varied learning needs and levels of functioning.
Experience
Using a holistic approach that was tailored to client’s specific needs I provided comprehensive educational counseling to students guiding them through the process of making decisions pertaining to their academic goals by facilitating college exploration, completing college applications, registering for assessments and developing academic plans. In addition to case management, I also worked as a high school college counselor and was an instrumental member of the scholarship committee.
Approach
College Counseling using a holistic approach that will address and encourage mindfulness, detailed instruction using various modalities, hands on teaching and positive reinforcement.
