I enjoy hiking, playing sports, working with youth of all ages.
I have traveled abroad to Spain, Kenya and Puerto Rico.
I enjoy learning about multiple cultures and have done several service trips or events based around culture and identities.
About Me
I am from Denver, Colorado and recently graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in entrepreneurship and leadership. I am currently a Graduate Student at the University of San Diego in the Peace and Justice Studies program. When I graduate I would like to start my own non-profit centered around youth development for underprivileged communities.
Experience
During my Undergrad experience I use to tutor students from bilingual elementary in Fort Collins, Colorado. I also use to work at two different Boys and Girls Clubs in Metro Denver where I assisted the members with the reading program and there homework on a daily basis. I also tutored my little brother with homework for several years.
Approach
Growing up I have always excelled in school outside of the subject of Math. I dreaded going to math class and grew frustrated throughout the years. Then when I started getting extra assistance I was able to feel better about my capabilities and excel in math. In addition, I never was provided with the right tools and guidance to prepare for college. Thus, would love to share my knowledge with youth to prepare them for the next level and help make this difficult transition a little smoother.
