Fun Facts
I've called Arizona my home for the past two decades and have been thoroughly romanced by the desert! I absolutely love animals, and especially dogs. For fun, I'm doing anything between creative writing, playing sports and spending time with friends, running along one of the many trails near where I live, and just trying to find new and interesting ways to occupy myself. During the spring of 2013 I studied in Italy for 3 months! Experiencing new cultures is extremely gratifying.
About Me
I attend the University of Arizona as a student of English. I'm currently in the middle of my last year of college and have held on to a GPA of 3.727. After I graduate, it's my plan to begin teaching full-time at a high school or elementary school. I am an inductee into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I have also competed in several short story and poetry writing competitions, of which I've won one.
While considering myself capable of tucson">tutoring students in a variety of subjects, Frog tucson">Tutoring would be the first organization hiring me to do so. I do, however, have experience in tucson">tutoring, albeit as an amateur to friends and peers. Subjects have included Writing, English, and some Philosophy. I intend to eventually educate professionally at an accredited institution and eagerly seek opportunities to aid students of all aptitudes in a variety of subjects. It's my hope that Frog tucson">Tutoring will grant me such opportunities to teach and to connect with a community of students who deserve the grades they desire!
I fully recognize the necessity for different approaches appropriate for varying students and subject difficulties. One must attempt to stay organized and to plan accordingly for study and rest on top of engaging the subject to fully meet and excel beyond the standards of their schooling. I also realize that making the process an enjoyable one is of importance because the most effective education is one that does not repel the student. After developing a firm grip on the basics I intend to guide students toward mastery not by handing them the answers, but by shining a light on a path they walk themselves. My job is to make the improvement of their approach and skills ultimately reflect an improvement in their grades.
