Fun Facts
In my free time you're likely to catch me at the gym, but when I'm not doing that I like to ride long distances on my longboard, particularly around Houston's extensive bayou trailways. I love to explore and travel, I've been to both Africa and Europe and I hope to travel to Asia someday soon.
About Me
I am a senior Music Education major at houston">the houston">University of Houston. I've been on the Dean's List since enrollment. When I graduate this December I want to teach music lessons and perform with local choirs. Eventually I want to go to graduate school for voice and make a career out of performing.
Experience
I've taught music lessons at local schools since I was a college freshman. I've worked at both high schools and middle schools. I've studied music education for five years and will graduate with my degree in the field this december.
Approach
I work on helping the student achieve his or her goals and tailor the lesson to fit their needs. I try to make the experience fun while also focusing on progress rather than current ability. I enjoy the challenge of figuring out how to teach an individual student a new task in a way that they can understand and best fits their learning style.

I have taken four years of music theory courses, both in high school and college. My degree in Music Education requires I have a full understanding of the mechanics of music. I have taught lessons in houston area schools for several years.
Ear Training Tutoring
I have taken three years of ear training classes at the University of Houston. My I have worked on my aural skills for over a decade. I performed with the choirs at the University for five years and developed my ear extensively
General Music Tutoring
My degree is in Music Education. I am capable of teaching basic music skills to any age level. I have several years experience teaching lessons in the houston area
Guitar Tutoring
I have taken guitar lessons for three years. I am a proficient player and understand the theory behind the instrument and how to teach proper playing technique
Music Theory Tutoring
I have taken four years of music theory courses in both high school and college. My degree in Music Education requires that I have an intimate understanding of the working of music.
Piano Tutoring
I took two years of piano training as part of my Music Education degree. I understand how to teach any level of student the basics of learning how to play piano and learn to read music.
Trombone Tutoring
I have taken seven years of trombone lessons and performed with many extra curricular groups including orchestras, brass quintets and bands. I studied trombone for four years at the University of Houston and gave my senior recital on trombone.
Voice (Music) Tutoring
I have taken four years of voice lessons. I have studied with University of Houston faculty for two of those years. I have developed my technique and am skilled. I have performed with the University of Houston choirs for five years.
