Fun Facts
I love music and museum visits. I'm a nineteen year experienced flautist. Any chance I get to visit a museum, I do so. It keeps me informed on ideas and events that help me understand cultural importance and sensitivity. I enjoy learning. Music helps me to have a clear mind to receive knowledge. Museums give me exposure to the knowledge.
About Me
I am a doctoral graduate from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, TX. My area focus is in community health practice with functional emphasis in epidemiology and healthcare management. I have an interest in working with adolescent youth and young adults in ways that optimize their knowledge, health, and overall well being.
Experience
While at University of Texas, I served as a teaching assistant for the public health course, Health Promotion Theory and Methods Communities, Organizations, and Government. This course was taught at the graduate level. In professor' absence I would provide additional help to students with writing papers and comprehending course content. I currently serve as an instructor at houston">the houston">University of Houston.
Approach
My approach is to identify people's strengths in terms of learning methods. My logic is that most people can be trained to do anything. Though they may have not been exposed to a method that's complements the way they learn. For example, my natural way of learning is through repetition or practice and visual demonstration. I realize; however, not everyone learns in this way. The key is to make the person being trained become comfortable in learning. Once this achieved, learning becomes natural!

I've specifically done research in the area of adolescent health as my dissertation was focused on this adolescent youth. I designed and presented findings for a cross-sectional study measuring the association between cognition (inhibitory control) and outcomes of psychological dating violence. Throughout the years, I've also worked with teens in various school systems, reviewing their susceptibility to engaging in risky behaviors and the theories helping to explain why they are vulnerable to impulsive acts.
