Fun Facts
I love to dance, and I even incorporate music and movement into curriculum whenever possible, especially when I was a classroom teacher. I am a native of Washington, D.C., but I live in Maryland, now. I enjoy traveling. I have been to Costa Rica and France. I haven't traveled in a while, but I look forward to doing it again soon. In the mean time, I am always ready for a weekend at the beach.
About Me
As a licensed child care provider, I provide before and after school child care for school-aged children. I've been a private in-home tutor since 2015. I have also tutored a child with special needs, and worked with students in the general education and special needs population while working as a school teacher for 8 years in Maryland, and as the After-School teacher at a child care facility. I especially enjoy helping children who have difficulty learning in the traditional classroom setting.
Experience
I taught elementary school for 8 years in the Prince George's County Public School System in Maryland. I also worked as an After-school teacher at a local child care facility. There, I also worked with children who had special needs. As a private tutor, I have tutored numerous children, primarily in reading, writing and math.
Approach
As an educator/tutor, I create and/or adapt learning materials to fit my students' individual learning style. I enjoy understanding how each student learns best, and using specific materials to meet that need. I also enjoy incorporating music and movement into learning, whenever I can because many students are more engaged in the learning process when they can add clapping, rhymes/rhythm, and creative movement into the learning process.

As a former Prince George's County Public School teacher, I received the Advanced Professional Certification for Elementary Education 1-6 & Middle School after graduating from George Mason University with a Master's in New Professional Studies-Teaching. I also taught Health to students in grades 7-8, which included reviewing and grading assignments based on the students comprehension of Health concepts.
