I am a longhorn, I go to the University of Texas and I absolutely love Texas football! My favorite color is orange">orange and I love to eat Mexican food. I am a proud aunt to 2 nieces and 2 nephews. I love to dance and can type with one hand.

About Me

My name is Justine De Los Santos and am a current senior at the University of Texas at Austin. I am an education major and in the professional development sequence (PDS) program in the College of Education. After I graduate, I want to be an elementary teacher in Austin or San Antonio.

Through the PDS program, I have the opportunity to observe and work with kindergarten students. I assist the teacher with lessons and facilitating the classroom. Before I joined this program, I tutored and mentored four elementary students through the HOST program. During the summer, I also mentored three students at a local Austin summer camp.

As a austin">tutor, I believe that it is important to get to know the student both personally and academically. I think it is vital to be aware of the student's strengths and weaknesses. Instead of just providing answers to the student, I can facilitate their thinking by asking them questions to their solutions. By using the student's prior knowledge and interests, I can make their learning more meaningful.
