About Me
I am a Freshman at the University of Arizona Honors College. I am studying English with a minor in Adolescents, Community, and Education. I am an Eco-rep for the Arbol de la Vida Residence hall and an intern for the Students for Sustainability on campus. My goal is to be accepted into the Teach for America program upon graduation and to devote my life to teaching and serving/advocating for those who are underprivileged and under-voiced in society. I hope to find a women's shelter to help out in the near future!
I have never been a part of a formal tucson">tutoring program, however I have always helped my friends/peers to the best of my abilities on homework assignments in various subjects. Since entering college, I have already helped a few friends with writing their papers! It is one of my favorite things to do because it is how I connect to people!
I like to help people discover answers and understandings on their own. I don't want to merely tell someone an answer; I want to lead them to it. When tucson">tutoring, I try to get whoever I am working with to discover the thoughts and understandings that are in their mind, but that they are just having trouble finding. When tucson">tutoring, I am very patient and keep an open-mind to answers. I want the student to understand in their own way and have their own epiphanies!
