-Because my parents are Persian, I visit Iran every summer and have been there eighteen times.
About Me
I am a freshman Biology major at Loyola University. I've received the President's Award for my academic excellence during high school. After college, I hope to pursue a career in healthcare, although I have not decided an exact path yet.
Experience
During high school, I was president of the National Honors Society and vice president of Key Club. In both of these clubs, we spent the majority of our time tutoring our peers or students at Good Shepherd Nativity School. Tutoring gives me the opportunity to help others excel academically and prosper. I enjoy tutoring because I can utilize my knowledge of certain subjects to help others.
Approach
In high school, my AP Calculus teacher transformed a stressful, AP class into a lively, exciting environment where students desired to be in. He also emphasized that in order to learn, one must have a positive attitude and be thankful for the opportunity to receive education. I hope to incorporate his patience and enthusiasm as a tutor. I also wish to truly dedicate myself to my students and make them feel confident when they ask me questions.

Biology
Calculus Tutoring
In high school I took AP Calculus and received an A in the class. I took the AP Calculus test and received a 3. I believe I can teach Calculus because AP Calculus, which I have mastered, contains the same material but it moves at a faster pace.
Calculus AP Tutoring
In high school I took AP Calculus and received an A in the class. I took the AP Calculus test and received a 3. I believe I can teach AP Calculus because I took it so recently, and I am also currently taking Calculus 1 in college.
Chemistry Tutoring
As a Biology major, most of my credit hours pertain to Sciences. I am currently taking General Chemistry 1 in college, and I have an A in the class. I believe that my success in my college class can help me explain concepts to my student because I have mastered the topics at a much higher level.
Religion Tutoring
I went to a Catholic high school so religion classes were important parts of our daily schedules. I took five years of religion and I excelled due to my school's prioritization of those classes. Due to my extensive experience, I believe I can be helpful to a student and help them succeed.
Science Tutoring
As a Biology major, most of my credit hours pertain to Sciences. I excelled in science because I was so passionate about the subject and I hope to influence my students as well.

Biology Tutoring
As a Biology major, I've been always interested in organisms and life. Biology was easy for me in middle school because I was so passionate and fascinated by the material I was taught. Hopefully my love for biology can motivate my student to dedicate his/her time to the subject and learn to appreciate it.

Middle School Math Tutoring
I am exceptional in Math and I can relay information effectively. I can teach the student tricks and methods to understand and apply topics. Because math pertains to my major, I have not forgotten the fundamental skills required to succeed in this subject.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I have the ability to read a passage and interpret the material which I have read to answer concept questions. I received a 30 on my ACT Reading Comprehension. Although the ACT is much different than Middle School Reading Comprehension, I find that certain methods can be utilized to help a student succeed.
Elementary Math Tutoring
I can successfully tutor a student in Elementary Math because Math was my strongest subject in elementary school. I received multiple awards for possessing the highest grades in my class in Math. I can teach the student certain tricks and methods to explain difficult concepts such as multiplication and division.
Social Studies Tutoring
As a woman of color, I have always been perplexed by different cultures and their origins. Thus, in elementary school I dedicated much of my time to studying this subject. Social studies was one of my strongest subjects.
ACT English Tutoring
My highest score for ACT English was a 34. I believe that I can successfully tutor a student in ACT Prep English because I have taken the ACT four times while I was in high school. Thus, I am very familiar with the test and the style of questions it asks. I improved my ACT English score from a 31 to 34 and hope to help other students to prosper as well.
Conversational Farsi Tutoring
As a child of two Iranian parents, my parents encouraged me to become bilingual and taught me to speak Farsi and English. I am fluent in Farsi, but my reading and writing is at an elementary level. I believe I can successfully tutor a student in this subject because I have the ability to explain certain concepts by comparing it to facets of the English language.
Pre Calculus Tutoring
In high school I took AP Calculus and Pre-Calculus and received As in both classes. I took the AP Calculus test and received a 3. I believe I can teach Pre-Calculus because AP Calculus, which I have mastered, contains material that builds off concepts in Pre-Calculus.
