Fun Facts
I grew up in Chicago and moved to Hong Kong when I was 12. I have never been a student at the same school for more than three years! I like watching and playing tennis.

About Me
I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and was on the Dean's List for all three years. I am currently a full-time teacher at Success Academy Charter Schools in New York City and was previously a Science Teacher and Science Instructional Coach. I worked on research directly with Dr. Angela Duckworth, a world-famous psychologist who wrote a book and did one of the most popular TED talks on Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance.
Experience
For four summers, I undertook a teaching residency and designed Economics and Physics courses for underprivileged middle school students in Hong Kong. During my third and fourth summers, I was a Mentor Teacher and administrator, helping teachers with their lesson plans, observing lessons, providing feedback, and running two sites of 150 students and 40 teachers in a team of seven administrators. I have also taught in West Philadelphia urban elementary and high schools and a private high school
Approach
My high school chemistry teacher never simply told me the answer, but he would ask me questions that guided me to find the answer myself. I believe that the best teachers are ones who empower students to have creative ownership of their work, enable students to be intrinsically motivated, foster love of learning in students, and design interactive lessons that engage students.
