About Me
I am a recent graduate from The University of Texas at Arlington where I graduated with honors. My degree is in history and I have plans to become a high school history teacher.
After high school I tutored the AVID class at Arlington Heights High School for a year. At UTA I joined the Martial Arts club where I quickly climbed the ranks and began instructing in the club and eventually became an instructor at Mike Johnson's Texas Black Belt Academy. I have completed the initial training for Texas Teacher alternative certification program and have 30 hours of observation and classroom instruction.
I've found, for history specifically, the very best way to learn something is to teach it to someone else. So when I'm teaching someone I like to help them identify the most important parts of the subject and guide them through research. Then it is their job to teach me and it is my job to challenge the student's understanding through questions and debate. This shows any areas that need improvement and the process can be repeated to strengthen those areas.
