As an eager traveler, interested in experiencing other cultures, Kurt studied Spanish in Peru through BC. In 2016 and 2017, Kurt was a University Lecturer and International English Professor at private and public universities as well as an International Trainer at the Shanghai Online Training Center in China. These Chinese institutions are where he taught IELTS, College English, Oral English, English Writing, and life-skills for social interaction in English.
About Me
Kurt A. Lehman, M.Ed. was born in Southern California, with plenty of sun and surfing. For eight years, Kurt has been an enthusiastic ESOL Educator and Trainer, who is passionate about enriching the personal and professional lives of English learners for academic and business purposes. It all began when he traveled with a UW contingency to teach and learn about the education system in a small village in South India, Auroville, which inspired his passion to teach.
Experience
Since then, he has become a Master in Education from SU, a certified TESOL Instructor, and taught and tutored from 1st grade to Ph.D, all English proficiency levels. For four years, he was a Language Consultant for foreign nationals at MS. From 2010 to 2016, he had tutored in different departments at BC: TRiO Student Support Services and the Disability Resource Center, under the Academic Success Center. Kurt taught SAT Accelerated English at NWCS.
Approach
Kurt’s objectives are to optimize learning and heightened outcomes with a diverse student population by eliciting autonomy and self-direction for greater production, using engaging, student-centered activities.
