Fun Facts

I am an avid reader and enjoy science fiction, thriller, fantasy and horror genres though I will read anything interesting :) During my free time, I enjoy going to Zumba classes and hiking around the Phoenix area. My two cats, Charlie and Ari, are the loves of my life; I adopted them from a mutual friend when they were 6 months old. You may find me checking out different local events, art festivals and Phoenix Zoo fundraisers throughout the year, since I am always up for a new adventure as a native of the Valley. Another interesting tidbit is that I am an identical twin!

About Me

I am a Water Quality Inspector with the City of Phoenix and just received my Registered Sanitarian (RS) and Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) certifications from my time working as an Environmental Health Specialist Trainee with Maricopa County. I have a B.S. in Environmental Science with an emphasis in Applied Mathematics and a minor in Spanish from NAU, where I also received an award for finishing their Honors Program. I plan to stay with the City of Phoenix and am considering pursuing a Masters degree in Environmental Toxicology while continuing to work.

Although my first experiences phoenix">tutoring were in high school working with adult ELL students along with informally helping peers in a variety of classes, I did not have professional experience until after graduating college. I have worked with another phoenix">tutoring company for 2 years where I helped students of all ages and levels with mainly beginning math through intermediate Calculus, beginning Chemistry and Spanish, introductory Statistics, and some essay writing. After hearing about Frog phoenix">Tutoring, I wanted to become a phoenix">tutor and mentor for a company that promotes a more structured and efficient style!

During my time as a student, I found that taking detailed notes, listening effectively, and utilizing a variety of resources worked the best for me when I had to learn new material. As a phoenix">tutor, I understand that all students learn at different paces and apply their knowledge in different ways. It's important to determine the student's comfort with the material as well as their enthusiasm, and then adapt supporting material and information in a way that will best help them. It's my goal to not only increase familiarity with the subject matter but try to help them apply learning skills to other classes. It's a good feeling when a student no longer dreads tackling their homework!
