I love to read - a real bookworm. And I carry that love of learning to students that I tutor. Literature, plays, movies - all can be analyzed for deeper enjoyment. Natural curiosity and a logical approach enable me to help students in history and the sciences as well.

About Me

I am a nonprofit professional with background in corporate marketing. Although business is my work, tutoring is what I do for enjoyment. Helping young people make a connection with learning is very satisfying. My own three children are terrific young adults now, launched on careers. So tutoring has been a wonderful way to stay in touch with students.

Experience

As the oldest in a family with five children, I started "playing teacher" very young. In the large classrooms of the Boomer generation, I served as the unofficial teacher's aide who helped my classmates learn. During and after college, I was a volunteer tutor...and for the past 6 years I have been coaching students from grade school through college.

Approach

My approach is more coach than teacher: my students and I are on the same team! Winning means that the student has a real understanding of the subject. AND that they believe they can succeed. Inspiring confidence and expectation of success - in place of anxiety - is a victory!
