Fun Facts
A fun fact about me is that I have been writing poetry and conscious raps since age nine! I've always had a flair for creative writing and went on to produce speeches, news articles and press materials for major television brands. Nothing excites me more that a good home-cooked meal that I created myself. Another fun fact is that I was enlisted in the Army National Guard for two years in college.
About Me
I am a Campus Program Recruiter at Turner Broadcasting where I manage corporate, technology and production internships. I graduated Cum Laude from Spelman College in 2015 and went on to become a NBC Page, then worked in various PR/communications roles for MSNBC, NBC News, and Nickelodeon. I am a highly skilled written and verbal communicator with an impressive track record across the media landscape.
Experience
As a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, I tutored high school students in Reading Comprehension, Pre-Algebra, History, and Spanish weekly during my junior year in college. I also worked for the Wings for Kids program as a Wings leader where I was responsible for a nest of twelve 3rd grade boys. I helped them with homework, take home projects, and facilitated extracurricular activities twice a week.
Approach
My fondest memories of teachers include those who challenged the boundaries of unconventional learning. Whether that meant opening a classroom store to teach me how to count money or writing rap lyrics to a catchy tune to help me memorize and comprehend vocabulary words. I've never been a traditional learner, so I believe in adopting nontraditional methods of teaching to accommodates each student's style of learning.
