About Me
I recently received a BA in Psychology & Early Childhood Education with a minor in French from Tulane University. I have been on the Dean's List every semester of college, and was involved in student-run organizations. I am now applying to doctoral programs in clinical psychology. Technically, I work as an early interventionist at a nonprofit for underserved children with developmental disorders and delays, but I am not in-person right now due to COVID delays.
Experience
In high school, I tutored students weekly as part of my membership in the National Honor Society. I have babysat and nannied for years, which often included homework help and educational games.
I have worked as a reading buddy, tutor, and classroom assistant almost every semester throughout college in local elementary schools as part of my Psychology & Early Childhood Education major. I also trained to work in classrooms for my current position.
Approach
I had a much better experience with school growing up than many children are able to have. Teachers and other mentors believed in me and helped me to challenge myself, and it is my goal to provide other students with this level of support. I believe that with the right tools, resources, scaffolding, and encouragement, every student can achieve his/her goals. I am patient, positive, and fun-loving, and I see student motivation as the driving factor for learning.

Psychology & Early Childhood Education
Child Development Tutoring
This is the focus of my major. All of my psychology and education classes have focused on child development (listed under each subject).
Education Tutoring
This is a large part of my major, especially because I will be certified to teach after completing my program. I have taken Nursery School Observation, Education In A Diverse Society, Early Childhood Classroom Management, Emergent Literacy, Child & Adolescent Literature, Methods of Reading in Early Childhood, and Methods of Early Childhood Education. Almost all of these classes included a service learning component in which we spent around 5 hours a week working in classrooms of New Orleans elementary schools.
Psychology Tutoring
This is part of my major. I have taken Introductory Psychology, Sociology of The Family, Abnormal Psychology, Educational Psychology, Child Psychology, Univariate Statistics (incl. Lab), Psychology of Early Childhood, Infancy, Psychological Testing & Measurement (incl. lab), and Brain and Behavior.
Additionally, I spent last year as a research assistant for CPEG, a Columbia University research group at the New York Psychiatric Institute. This taught me a lot about the research aspect of psychology.
Writing Tutoring
I placed out of Freshman English because of my performance in high school. I have taken Creative Writing in college, and many of my classes in college have been graded mostly on my writing. I just completed my writing intensive class.
French Tutoring
I am minoring in French and have taken Advanced French Grammar & Composition, Intro To French Literary Analysis, The French Short Story, French Media & Oral Performance, and French Societies & Institutions. I have also taken French classes since middle school.
Conversational French Tutoring
As I have listed previously, I am minoring in French and have taken many classes in this area from middle school through college.
English Tutoring
I excelled at English throughout high school and took AP English as a senior.
