Fun Facts

I have been around horses since the age of 3. My father trains thoroughbreds at Calder Race Course in Miami, so during most summers I would go to the track and help with horse care. That includes feedings, groomings, cleaning stalls, and washing bridles. I am also a HUGE Hurricane fan and a supporter of the football team . GO CANES!!!!!!!!!

About Me

I am a senior at the miami">University of Miami. I major in Biology and I have two minors, one in Psychology and another in Chemistry. My hope is to become an equine veterinarian in the future.

I enjoy miami">tutoring as I have had prior experience here at UMiami. I worked as a miami">tutor in the Hecht Center on campus where I tutored the Hurricane athletes in a number of subjects. I found the experience not only rewarding for myself but for the student-athletes as well. For a class that they have constantly struggled with and to finally pass with a good grade gave them a feeling of accomplishment. All their hard work paid off and it was amazing to see their work ethic increase because they were more confident in their abilities. More than anything that is my goal, for the students to be confident and not feel less than their peers.

My main approach is to target the problem areas for each student. I am willing to spend as much time necessary to refresh the student on areas they have forgotten. But I would like to spend sessions strengthening those areas to make sure it becomes the students strong suite. I love to use materials that the student can relate to or may view as a fun activity. Whether that maybe puzzles or using sports as a reference, I'll try anything that will allow the child to learn the material in the easiest way for him or her. Every child learns differently and I am ready and willing to adapt to their learning styles and get them back on track.
