Fun Facts

An interesting fact about me is that I have three pets: two pet hermit crabs named Mickey and Minnie and a dog named Jalepeno! Some of my hobbies include exercising, reading, and painting. I also have a passion for music, I love going to different concerts and enjoy being introduced to different bands.

About Me

I have just recently graduated from St. Mary's University with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. My main goal is to become a physician and to possibly do research. During college I held multiple leadership roles including the President of HOSA, Public Relations Officer and Secretary for the Pre-Medical Society, and Sergent at Arms Officer for the service organization Alpha Phi Omega.

In one of my student organizations I had the opportunity to tutor young women in middle and high school attending the Young Womens Leadership Academy (YWLA) in their science and math classes for a year. I have also served as an "unofficial tutor" to my two younger brothers and to other students I attended college with. Some of the subjects that I have helped my fellow students with include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Organic Chemistry, Physiology, and math classes up to Calculus II.

My goal as a tutor would be to help the child feel comfortable with the subject matter that they need to improve on. I understand how previous experiences may hinder a student from feeling confident that they can succeed in their school material and therefore I am here to help the student not only excel in their class but also to get the student interested and excited in the subject that they need help in. I believe that with great patience and support I can help each student learn about different learning skills and help them understand which study skills they learn best with. I will also teach them the importance of asking questions and how much more you can learn through asking questions. In doing this I will also be reviewing the course material with the student and aiding them with their assignments.
