I enjoy a good book, so every chance I get I’m online or at the book store looking for a good read. I also throughly enjoy going to dinner and listening to music with friends and family.

About Me

I am currently attending classes at austin-state-university">Stephen F. Austin State University. I am majoring in Human Development and Family Studies and once I graduate I would like to focus on getting my masters as a Reading Specialist.

Experience

I am currently a Teacher Assistant and have been with the same school for 9 years. About 4 years ago I began tutoring students that attend my school in both reading and math. I thoroughly enjoy the one on one experience I get with the students I tutor as it gives me an opportunity to watch them grow in their academics and mature into young men and women.

Approach

As a young child all the way to the beginning of my college career I struggled in school. I later found out that my struggles were related to a learning disability called dyslexia. Even to this day I struggle with my studies but through perseverance and some extra encouragement from those around me I have managed to do just fine. So during my tutoring sessions I want to help the student persevere and give them as much support as I can all while helping them learn and grow.
