Fun Facts
Outside of school I am a very creative person. I love taking on DIY projects. These often involve taking apart furniture, painting, and sewing. I love to travel and explore diverse cultures so I hope that I have more opportunities to do so after I graduate college.
About Me
I am a senior at Grand Canyon University currently studying Elementary Education. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout my time here at GCU in the honors college. I also graduated from a highschool focused on college prep and academic rigor. Teaching people is my passion and math has always been my forte. After I graduate I will become a third grade teacher where my passion can become my career.
Experience
I tutored several people throughout highschool in algebra and geometry. Most of my experience is with Elementary aged students who I worked with at a Summer camp for two years. I have almost completed the teacher training program at GCU where I have adapted several skills that have enhanced my tutoring. I have had the opportunity to observe and assist teachers with lessons in various subjects and have worked one on one with students in the classroom.
Approach
I have always loved school and the opportunity to learn, so I hope to instill that same passion in other people. I try my best to make learning fun and applicable for anyone that I tutor. I have noticed that math is something that many people need extra help in order to absorb. I would love to be the person that provides the support and positivity that someone needs to succeed.

Education Tutoring
I am in my senior year of the Elementary Education program at Grand Canyon University. I have taken and earned an A in several methods courses including lesson planning, ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I have also passed both the math/science and language arts/social studies content knowledge exams required for certification in AZ.
Algebra Tutoring
Throughout high school I excelled in and tutored other students in algebra. I also took college Algebra my freshman year of college and earned an A in the class. I often found myself explaining concepts to my peers more than the professor did.

I have taken several courses in my program focused on English instruction. Two of these were specifically targeted at teaching English Language Learners. I also passed the the Elementary English exam required for certification.

As a future teacher, I have a lot of tips and strategies to help students stay on task, manage their time and complete assignments. I also focus on building students' confidence.

Study Skills Tutoring
I know a lot of effective methods for studying. I understand that every student learns differently so I focus on finding what works best for them.I can also help students manage their time better.
Writing Tutoring
I am a strong writer and have confidence in my skills to teach students how to organize their thoughts and write effectively. I have taken courses in my program focused of improving students' writing. I focus most on building students' confidence.
