I have a little over 3 years of one-on-one atlanta">tutoring experience for kids in grades K-12. I have tutored many different subjects and enjoy atlanta">tutoring Math, Science and Language Arts. I have, so far, been a life-long student and understand what it takes to become a better student and what study-skills are needed at each stage of a person's academic career. I have taken many tests during my academic career and understand the difficulties most students face in understanding key concepts.
My philosophy of teaching is informed by the material I teach, relevant scholarship, and the lessons I have learned from personal experiences and failures. I would try to model my own love of learning to my students. The concept of active learning is central to my philosophy of education. These are behaviors I seek to model every day in my interactions with students that I have tutored or mentored. I understand that learner-oriented teaching promotes learning that is both purposeful and enduring. As a teacher, it would be my responsibility to know who my learners are, what kinds of knowledge and experience they bring to table. My goal as a atlanta">tutor would be to ignite in my students a passion to want to excel not only in the classroom but also in other areas of their non-academic life.
