Fun Facts

One passion you will notice in me is my excitement to help others learn new things. This is easily expressed in the classroom as a teacher but also as a coach. I love being a coach. I like to help coach golf, football, and baseball. Being a golf coach is fun to examine and practice and prepare the mental aspects and apply them to find desired results.

About Me

I am a classroom teacher. I have been a classroom teacher for nearly twenty-four years. I have taught 6th grade, high school (basic math and reading and elective classes), and adult basic education (GED) class. I have an extensive range of experience relating to various ages, learning abilities/styles, and passions. Learning is exciting and finding new ways to express information is even more exciting. Learning is more caught than taught.

Experience

My teaching experience is well rounded. I have taught, Basic Math, Pre-Algebra and Algebra. Some fun Math Problems Solving classes were fun and exciting to teach and see enthusiastic students. I have focused on Social Studies & Science by creating many projects and exciting activities. I have extensive experience diagnosing words, sentences, paragraphs, and compositions. It is amazing to attack a piece of literature, break it down, and build it back up with effective communication skills.

Approach

In my own educational experience, I was a late bloomer. I fell in love with learning during college. I met people who were so excited about learning but at the same time were my teammates. That relationship inspired me to become a motivational coach/teacher. I love to relate my own learning experiences to my students and watch them catch fire and reach their full potential. I feel it is my responsibility to cause my students to learn.
