Fun Facts

I am a lover of all things Pug! I have a 2 year-old Pug named Dewey who occupies most of my free time. When the weather is nice I love spending time outdoors walking with him, hiking with him, and taking him to the dog park. I also enjoy reading and you can often find me curled up on the couch with some chai tea and a good book. Oh, and I am scared of penguins! It is one of my funniest quirks!

About Me

I am a junior Middle School Education major at Stevenson University. I specialize in English and social studies and will be certified to teach grades 4 through 9 after graduation. Ultimately, I would like to attend Graduate School at Johns Hopkins University and obtain a Master of Science in Education specializing in either Urban Education or education/maryland/baltimore">Special Education.

As part of my curriculum at Stevenson University I have had the opportunity to gain experience in teaching through a weekly field placement. I have worked in an Elementary School, a public Middle School, and a private all-boys Middle School. I have taught students in a full class setting, small group settings, and on an individual basis. Now that I am working with Frog maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">Tutoring, I am looking forward to using my experience in the classroom to maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutor and mentor students in the community who are having difficulties with their course work.

I have always been told that I am a nurturing person who really connects with the people around me. This fact especially shines through in my teaching. I want to be more than a maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutor, I want to be a mentor. I like to take the time to really get to know my students and find out their unique interests and learning styles. I then use these factors in my lessons in order to help my students to make connections to the material. I genuinely care about my students and want to see them confident and successful in their studies!
