I took oil painting, watercolor painting, art history, mixed media collage at Santa Monica College, Otis College of Arts and Design and Accademia Italiana in Florence. I have taught art to children in Santa Monica, Malibu and Chicago.

I have taken accounting, corporate finance, international finances, corporate research, strategic planning, international marketing, political risk analysis and multinationals in the Pacific and I am certified in Business English as a Second Language. I have taken cross cultural communication and lived and worked abroad for KDD, the equivalent of AT&T in Japan as a marketing intern and lived and studied in Italy as an Artist and did an internship at a Daycare in Tuscany. I have a BA in International Economics and Japanese Cultural Affairs and a MBA in International Business Asia. English Tutoring

I have taken English literature, and am certified in ESL and Business ESL. I'd love to help high schoolers, college students with reading comprehension, writing papers or improving their verbal and written English and English as a Second language skills. I've studied and lived abroad in Italy and Japan so I understand and empathize with learning a new language in a practical way!

ESL Tutoring

Not only am I a certified ESL and Business ESL certified instructor but I also have been a Preschool Assistant and take care of children which is all about learning how to speak and communicate. I'd be happy to work to people who are new to the U.S. or high school and college students who need help with communicating in English because it's their second language. As well I'm happy to help adults with ESL so they can enjoy speaking a new language and be less frustrated.

Nutrition Tutoring

I love eating healthy and learning the value of food and sources of nutrition that they provide to make us function well in body, mind and spirit. Although I have not formally taken a nutrition course I have consulted with a Nutritionist while living in San Francisco, an Iridologist in Lake Tahoe and an Ayurvedic Nutritionist in LA so I have a personal interest in this field and would be happy to tutor Nursing students or others meet the requirements for their Nutrition coursework.

Psychology Tutoring

While I have not taken a course in psychology I have had a personal interest in the field and would be happy to tutor anyone needing to advance in this line of study. I am passionate about doing my own inner work of introspection for growth and healing and I'm particularly fond of Clinical Art Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as a solid understanding of recovery for alcohol and substance abuse.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring

As an undergraduate and graduate student I've read and written informative papers based on the material I read. Also as a trained Actress I've studied plays and needed to understand the characters, their actions (what was written between the lines) and the plot. I've also studied poetry and creative writing. I'd be happy to tutor one needing to learn how to comprehend written material. I have also healed from dyslexia so I can empathize with the frustration and help others to overcome it.

Religion Tutoring

I studied religions of East Asia while I was a student at Valparaiso University and got an A in it as part of my BA in International Economics and Japanese Culture. I have a natural interest in world religions so a little familiar with Roman Catholicism, Buddhism, Taoism, Shintoism, and Hinduism. I'm happy to tutor students in this coursework.

Study Skills Tutoring

I've always had great study skills and I'm happy to pass them onto students. Basically you find what works for you in terms of what you need to know and how you process the information in a way that you will remember when you are tested. That said my BA and MBA coursework was very intense and I'm happy to pass on my techniques. I was on the Dean's List in College, getting a 3.5 GPA and had a 3.0 GPA while pursuing my MBA. I'd love to tutor students in developing study skills that give them organize and confidence for life long learning!
