I love adventure and traveling. The funnest trip that I had was a Caribbean cruise. I love learning about different cultures and different ways of cooking. I also enjoy reading, going to see a movie, and the beach.
About Me
I have a B.A. in Sociology, and a M.A. in education/texas/fort-worth">Special Education. I'm working as a substitute teacher until I get hired on as a education/texas/fort-worth">special education teacher. I also do tutoring after school in people's homes.
Experience
I have tutored students for approximately 2 years privately in their homes. I usually tutor in reading, English, writing, or elementary math. I have taught piano / keyboard lessons for approximately 12 years, privately in students' homes. I enjoy helping students to improve in their understanding of their subject matter and in their grades at school.
Approach
I am a compassionate and understanding tutor. I usually assess where the student is at academically, and ask what challenges has the student had in the subject matter. Then I go from there to develop a plan to bring up the student's understanding and comprehension levels. I am an encouraging tutor and am genuinely glad when I can help a student understand and "get it." I am also happy to help them become more organized if needed, and can help with study skills.
