Fun Facts
I love playing and listening to piano music. I've taught myself, so I take some time reading through the sheet music and getting used to moving my fingers. However, I enjoy the challenge and satisfaction I get from completing a song. One day I hope to master playing the piano and play without slowing down. I am also the oldest and first to go to college. I have one younger sister who is currently in the Navy. I also own a seven year old white, fluffy cat with blue eyes named Kitty!
About Me
I am currently a junior majoring in Astrophysics at California State University, Northridge. I hope to go to out of state for my masters and for my PhD. I hope to be a part of a national lab such as the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and do research on the life and death of stars, exoplanets, or galaxy formation. I am a Cal-bridge Scholar which is a program meant to guide and mentor motivated students with high potential to obtain a PhD. I've also made the Dean's list my sophomore year.
Experience
I was asked to tutor for my math department after making the Dean's List my sophomore year. I've gotten the chance to tutor a variety of math subjects from college algebra to Differential Equations. This opportunity has helped me brush up on my problem solving, communication, and tutoring skills. I always received joy when I gave my students "A-HA!" moments!
Approach
Growing up, I was always shy to ask for help thinking I would be looked down on. It wasn't until I met my high school math teacher who really showed enthusiasm, compassion, patience and encouragement that I learned to be more confident. As a tutor, I believe this is truly important in helping a student build confidence with the material. Not only do I implement this, but I also strive to teach different methods in approaching a problem to make it easier to solve and understand.

Calculus I Tutoring
I am qualified to tutor this subject because I have tutored this subject for a year at my current university. Also, as a physics major, our material is heavily calculus based, and is something I work with all the time. I've learned how to derive formulas, master integration, and apply theorems to physics.
