Fun Facts
I once went to nine national parks, a national preserve, and a national monument all in three weeks! It was the road trip of a life time. As well, I like to knit, do aerial dance, make crafts, and write.
About Me
I'm a second year neuroscience major at Santa Clara University. I'm on a pre-med track with the plan of going to med school and becoming a neuropsychologist. I'm also a coxswain on the women's rowing team!
Experience
As a junior in high school I gave input into the development of a tutoring program for elementary school students. I tutored with this program for two years, primarily in elementary math and English. I also co-founded a program for first through third grade students struggling with their reading ability. I led a group of students weekly in fun activities to boost their reading and writing skills.
Approach
I've found that the source of many of mine and my peers struggles stem from being overwhelmed both by workload and the initial fear of new concepts. I tackle this issue by using a methodical and logical approach. My approach is to teach students to analyze what they do know instead of focusing on what they don't. This helps students to be more confident in their own abilities and minimize unnecessary stress.

Neuroscience
AP English Tutoring
I have been taking advanced English since my freshman year of high school. I took both AP Language and AP Literature and got a score of 5 on both tests. Now in college, I have taken two quarters of a critical thinking and writing class both of which I received A grades in.
Biology Tutoring
I took AP Biology in high school and excelled in the subject, with an A in the class and score of 4 one the test. I am in a biology field of study now, have taken two quarters of Biology, and am passionate about the subject.
Chemistry Tutoring
I excelled in high school chemistry my senior year and helped my peers when they were struggling. Currently, I am taking college level chemistry and lab courses and have earned an A grade in all of them.
English Tutoring
I have been taking advanced English since my freshman year of high school. I took both AP Language and AP Literature and got a score of 5 on both tests.
Writing Tutoring
My primary academic strength, as well as one of my hobbies is writing. Years of advanced English courses have guided my abilities in academic writing.
Math Tutoring
Middle school math (pre-algebra, algebra, geometry) is a large portion of what I use everyday in my own math and science courses. I have tutored middle school math previously and have a well rounded understanding of the subject.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
Having taken advanced English courses throughout high school I have a good understanding of the expectations for reading comprehension.
Science Tutoring
I excelled in science courses throughout high school and now at university. As a pre-med student I am required to take courses in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics so I have a well rounded knowledge of science subjects.
Elementary Math Tutoring
I spent two years tutoring struggling fourth and fifth grade students primarily with math and have experience with the Common Core curriculum.
