About Me
I graduated with PhD in Chemistry from Villanova University with 4.00 GPA. A masters' degree in chemistry from Howard University with 3.81 GPA in chemistry coursework. Currently serves as an adjunct chemistry faculty member at Villanova University and Montgomery County Community College.
Served as a philadelphia">tutor for General and Organic undergraduate chemistry courses while attending Graduate school at Villanova and Howard Universities. Most of my students have been pre-professionals who majored in biology but were challenged in the chemistry subject matter. My challenge was to make the seemingly disconnected principles become more meaningful especially for those who were pursuing pre-medical and pre-dental careers. As a scientist, Chemistry as field of study is ever present in our society and I found when I can connect a concept to some events in their lives it is easier for them to retain the information. I use demonstration with molecular models, tinkers toys or and any non-chemical examples to bridge any gaps of learning.
I start with covering the basics and tie these concepts to the more advanced subject matter. I provide my students with many ways to understand the subject matter and show how it applies to everyday life. I assign problems based what we covered in the session with a reasonable expectation that can be done successfully by the next meeting. I also make myself accessible before our next meeting just in case there is a point of clarification occurs.
