I love doing yoga. I am not only learning yoga but also how to teach. Teaching is something that can never part with me. As I learn something new in some aspects of my life, I try to equally share, and teach it to others. I also like to read books on yoga, Ayurveda, the art and science of cooking, healing oneself by natural therapies and home remedies and many more. I am fond of cooking, organizing and maintaining the place spick-and-span. I love nature and like to walk in the woods.

About Me

I am a Software Engineer by profession and I have studied science/washington/bellevue">Computer science as my major in Bachelors and Masters. I left my software job few years back to give time to myself and my family. I got fascinated by teaching children and spending time with them when I volunteered tutoring in Library and in Middle school. I worked with kids belonging to different ages and backgrounds. And the diversity helped me to grow as a teacher and as an individual.

I am a very enthusiastic, positive, committed and malleable individual. And I try to change myself to connect with children to give them my best and they can in turn feel benefited. In one sense, my students are my teachers. I learn a lot from them about how to teach and I adjust according to their needs. It is one thing to have knowledge of different subjects but it is altogether a different thing to teach them. My aim is to offer a secure and loving environment for students to not only excel in their fields but also grow as individuals.

Forming a good relationship with the student is the foundation of good teaching. Student should feel confident and secure during their interaction with the tutor. I tend to be empathetic with my students so that they can open up freely and start taking initiatives to learn the subject matter and perform well. I keep myself in their shoes and try to understand how I can serve them better. I also improvise on my communication skills and teaching abilities to have a positive, effective and progressive exchange of information.

Experience

I loved the experience of not just tutoring kids but to guide them properly, understand their nature, their outlook, and their constraints and inspire them accordingly to learn. I have to grow as a teacher for my students to grow as a learner. When I see that some of my students are not getting what I am teaching, I understand I have to work hard on myself to give them what they need. Every child is different therefore teaching also turns to be interesting and challenging.

Approach

I exhibit lot of patience in teaching different concepts. I try to come up with innovative ideas of explaining difficult concepts, breaking them down further and work hard on the fundamental concepts to ensure student’s success on the subject matter. I use Socrates method of questioning to enhance the thinking ability and build further on it by practice questions and revisions. I also focus on developing organizational skills and plans for self-study.
