Fun Facts
My interests are largely centered on geek culture. I adore everything from Harry Potter to Star Trek. I find Stephen Colbert and John Stewart more honest and reliable than most news outlets. When I play video games, I enjoy making the character walk through the scenery rather than actually engaging in game play. Humor, wit, and irony are everything; I enjoy spreading laughter.
About Me
I am a junior at the University of Texas at Dallas majoring in Arts in Technology. I hope to take the skills established in my time at school and apply them to a career in film animation. Ideally, I seek to work for PIXAR as a 3D modeler, rigger, or animator. I am currently considering a Master's degree in the same field but am flexible about the future. As an Academic Excellence Scholarship recipient, it is a critical priority for me to maintain exceptional grades but it is equally vital to network and operate morally.
I have had casual dallas">tutoring sessions with my peers from middle school throughout high school. While I do not have formal dallas">tutoring experience, I excel at expressing ideas concisely using various examples and metaphors until my point is successfully understood. Traditionally, I have taught my peers math, as it is my strongest subject, but my writing skills are also exceedingly strong and I have been known to help others revise their papers by checking syntactical and grammatical errors, logical errors, and flow and organizational arrangement.
Instead of approaching topics as if they were so easy that anyone can understand them, which students can find daunting, I tend to dissect the topics until they are simple enough to retain, then adding more to the equation. This sort of modular hierarchy, in my personal experience, makes learning more approachable. I also enjoy the use of silly mnemonic devices to further excite and engage the brain. As I said earlier, humor and easygoingness are crucial in developing an environment that encourages the desire to learn.
