Fun Facts
I love animals. In fact, when I watch movies, I get more upset when an animal is hurt than when the people are. I have a 3 and half year old cat. Her name is Penelope and she acts like a dog; she begs for food, comes when I whistle, and loves to have her belly scratched. If I spend enough time with any animal (except spiders) it is most likely to be love at first sight.
About Me
I am currently working on my Masters in Secondary Education degree at the University of New Mexico. My goal is to be a High School teacher. I have been in school as a student for a long time and am looking forward to passing on what I have learned to children and teenagers.
I was born and raised in Santa Fe, NM. When I graduated from St. Micheal's High School, I moved to Flagstaff, AZ and have been there for the last six years. I went to Northern Arizona University and in those six years I received a Bachelors degree in History and another one in Gender Studies. I then went straight into a Masters program at NAU and received my degree in History in May 2011.
As a student, I have always struggled with content and writing. My approach to albuquerque">tutoring has a lot to do with the approach I take to my own learning. I help students not only learn the content but develop study and time management skills that will help them for the rest of their academic career. I like to get to know each student's learning style (because everyone learns differently) and start by breaking down the assignment or content to make it more accessible for them.
