About Me
Previously I've tutored foreign students in English; I just got back from teaching English in China where I discovered that I enjoy teaching and work well with kids.
I am currently studying Mandarin Chinese, and plan to eventually return to China to work as a teacher again.
In college I helped to organize study groups for certain classes where I knew many of the students (sometimes myself included) were struggling. Most of the memphis">tutoring I've done though has been with foreign students in the subject of English. I tutored Japanese foreign exchange students at the memphis">University of Memphis, and I tutored Chinese students learning English in China.
I'm pretty easy-going; I believe that it's more important to study smart than it is to study hard (not to say though that studying hard isn't important). Memorizing things doesn't make you smarter, understanding concepts makes you smarter.
I like to try to explain things in a practical manner and relate information to something that exists in real life so that studying doesn't feel as much like busy work.
