Fun Facts

I started my undergrad as a pilot and have 45+ hours flight time. Although I did not continue in this field due to expenses, I am still an aviation enthusiast! I am a creative and I love to write, draw, and make things! At the same time, I excel in math and science as well, and I would love to go into the Geology field someday. I love traveling, especially camping, hiking, and biking.

About Me

I completed my undergrad with a BS in Communication at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, having spent all four years on the Dean's List. I have just started my graduate degree in Emerging Media and Communication at the dallas">University of Dallas - Texas, and expect to graduate in Spring 2015. Having just started this semester, I do not yet have a GPA to mention. Upon graduation I intend to seek a career in Communications, possibly looking for college classes to teach as an adjunct professor. I am also an aspiring novelist.

During the last three years of my undergrad, I tutored at Turie T. Elementary School, helping with the early identification program, science fairs, after-school homework help, reading programs, drama performances, and more. During that time, one of the teachers at the elementary school recruited me to dallas">tutor her high school daughter in algebra on an individual basis. More recently, a coworker recruited me to dallas">tutor her son in high school algebra and later in geometry. I was thrilled to watch as his grades steadily improved. I am currently dallas">tutoring in the Writing Lab at Eastfield College in Mesquite, TX, and I hope to add Frog dallas">Tutoring to my experience as well.

Students already spend a lot of time in the classroom trying to learn what the teacher puts in front of them. dallas">Tutoring should not be the same thing. When I dallas">tutor I have the opportunity to personalize a student's study experience, and help them to understand what they are looking at and learn how to study on their own. I strive to help them get a better grasp on the subject matter, and at the same time, to discover the best ways to help themselves succeed now and in the future. I truly enjoy seeing my students excel in their schooling and learn to enjoy the art of learning!
