Fun Facts
I am the oldest of four children and have lived in Michigan my entire life :) Back in high school I used to figure skate competitively, and nowadays I love going to the gym and dancing.
About Me
I am a recent graduate of Central Michigan University, with my Master of Science in Biology, and my Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science and Spanish. This upcoming fall I will be attending Lincoln Memorial University Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee, so if you have any questions whatsoever about using AMCAS (MD allopathic schools) and/or AACOMAS (DO osteopathic schools), please feel free to ask!
Experience
While I didn't start tutoring until my junior year of undergrad, I started teaching overall when I was 14 and a figure skating assistant coach. In college I tutored Organic Chemistry and Spanish for two years, and as a graduate teaching assistant I led introductory biology labs for two years straight.
Approach
For my first session with a student, I ask them what they seem to struggle the most with, such as in Spanish many struggle with proper conjugation and when particular tenses are used over another (preterite vs imperfect, subjunctive vs indicative). I also try to review any exams handed back to them, go over their mistakes, and explain what the proper answer would have been. Once I explain a concept, the student then restates it in their own words to reaffirm what they have learned.

Biology Advance Tutoring

Biology I Tutoring
As a graduate student I taught introductory biology labs. In high school I took AP Biology as a junior and earned a 5, the highest score possible, on the AP exam.

Chemistry I Tutoring
In high school I took AP Chemistry as a senior and earned a 4 on the AP exam. This allowed me to skip CHM 131 (Chemistry I at CMU) in college.

As a freshman I earned a B+ in CHM 132, Chemistry II at CMU.
Genetics Tutoring
As a junior in undergrad I earned an A- in Genetics.
Microbiology Tutoring
As a freshman in undergrad I earned a B+ in Microbiology.
Organic Chemistry I Tutoring
I tutored Organic Chemistry as an undergrad, with many of my students being able to raise their grades an entire letter. I earned an A- as a junior in undergrad.
Spanish I Tutoring
I tested out of this class in undergrad, and earned 4 retroactive credits because of it. I also tutored Spanish I.
Spanish II Tutoring
I tested out of this class in undergrad, and received an additional 4 retroactive credits including the other 4 I earned from testing out of Spanish I. I also tutored for this class.
Spanish III Tutoring
As a freshman in undergrad, I earned an A in this class, and tutored for this class also.
Anatomy Physiology I Tutoring
As a junior in undergrad I earned a B in Physiology, and an A- in Human Anatomy.
AP Chemistry Tutoring
As a senior in high school, I earned a B in this class both fall and spring semesters, and a 4 on the AP exam.

In high school, as a sophomore, I earned an A in biology.

As a junior in high school, I earned a 5, the highest possible score, on the AP exam, and a B for the fall semester, and an A during the spring semester.
