Fun Facts
Throughout my college career I was involved in many clubs and organizations, amongst those my favorite were those involving fashion. I was a stylist in the club, Fashion N' Motion, where I enjoyed styling my model with the various themes for fashion shows. The other organization was for Interior Design where each year there was a "Green is the New Black" fashion show where designers had to create clothes from recycled items. I won first and third place in the competition and loved each moment!
About Me
I have a Bachelor of Human Science in Interior Design and Minor of Art in Graphic Design from austin-state-university">Stephen F. Austin State University. I currently work as an Interior Designer at an Interior Design Firm in the DFW Metroplex. I plan to get my certification and Masters in Interior Design. My overall goal is work as an Interior Designer, while having my own business as a Graphic Designer. Also, improving others lives my sharing knowledge I've obtained through various experiences in my career.
Experience
On the collegiate level I interned for the University's Theater Department creating advertisements. I also worked as a Resident Assistant for 3 years at the University learning about the diversity of each individual. As an Interior Designer, I have worked at a high-end furniture store, and two Interior Design Firms. I have had the opportunity to work under the guidance of my superiors and in team collaborations to better myself. I'd enjoy sharing these same tools with students as a Frog Tutor!
Approach
In high school I took a college prep class AVID, Advancement Via for Individual Determination. AVID provided me with great fundamentals that not only prepared me for college, but tools that I still use today. For example, proper ways to study, take notes, retain information, and different programs to help with studying. As a tutor, I want to share the things I've learned as a student and real world experiences that have helped me become a successful learner.

Interior Design
Graphic Design Tutoring
I am knowledgeable in the following design programs that are commonly used in the Graphic Design industry: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Adobe Muse. Adobe Muse was self taught and I am continuously learning new things about the program. I can provide an overall or specific help for Graphic Design and some of the common programs used.
Interior Design Tutoring
I've taken numerous classes on Interior Design that taught the basics and drawing programs used in the industry. Some of the classes included: 2D & 3D Design, Fundamentals of Interior Design, History of Interiors, Design App Software CAD I and II, Interior Materials & Cabinetry, Codes & Materials, and Interior Lighting. I maintained a 3.4 and above GPA throughout my collegiate career. I was able to do this by attending various study groups and keeping good individual study habits.
Study Skills Tutoring
I learned great study skills in a college prep class called AVID, Advancement Via for Individual Determination. This class taught proper ways to take notes, programs to use to assist with studying, and how to successfully retain information. I have used these things throughout my high school, college, and now working career.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
At an early age I was taught different tools to aid in reading comprehension. For example, highlighting key words, using context clues, researching or asking questions about things you don't understand, and many more. My occupation involves translating a person's desires and bringing them to life. This requires understanding and examining their needs.
Adobe Illustrator Tutoring
I learned this program first hand with a professor during a summer session who taught me everything there was to know. The following semester I used this program heavily and received an award for Most Dedicated Student.

Microsoft Word Tutoring
I have been using Microsoft Office Suite since Elementary. Throughout the years I have learned and the different things the program offers. I continue to use the Microsoft Word and similar programs that offer the same benefits.
Networking Tutoring
I have experience in working as a Social Media Marketing leader for a high-end furniture store where I created advertisements that were used on Facebook, Instagram, Google Plus, Magazines, Commercials and Billboard use. Also, branding for an Interior Design Firm creating logos, business cards, postcard, and web designs.
