About Me
I am from Hobart, Indiana and graduated from Hobart High School in June of 2013. At Hobart High School I graduated first in my class with a 4.3 GPA. I am now a freshman at the indianapolis">University of Indianapolis. I am majoring in Psychology and minoring in Spanish. My plans for after undergraduate school is to attend graduate school for Clinical Psychology. I would like to be a clinical psychologist with a side job in Spanish translation.
In high school I tutored a few students once a week in Spanish and Math. I also gave guitar lessons bi-weekly to three students. Now that I am finally adjusted to the college life and schedule, I would like to start indianapolis">tutoring again. indianapolis">Tutoring Spanish is particularly enjoyable for me and I have often considered becoming a Spanish teacher at a high school. I understand that many students believe that Spanish is a difficult language to learn and not many of them are motivated to take Spanish because it is just a required class. When I indianapolis">tutor Spanish I like to show the students how practical Spanish is and how fun it can be.
In high school I struggled with biology class. It always took me extra time to complete my biology homework. My biology teacher was patient and showed me example after example along with asking me questions. This is how I like to approach a indianapolis">tutoring session. I begin with asking a few questions to figure out how much knowledge the student has, and where their problem lies. Once I have found their problem, I provide them with example after example on how to correctly apply the concept. Answers are never given away, and questions are constantly being asked to give the student a sense that they can do it on their own. I bring a relaxed feeling to all of my indianapolis">tutoring sessions so the students do no feel particularly pressured.
