Fun Facts

I like music, I like bikes, baking bread, sports (soccer, golf, volleyball, etc.), I want people to eat their fruits and veggies (especially the kids). I am originally from Puerto Rico, where I was raised a native Spanish speaker, but then moved to Louisiana at 16, so now I consider myself a Cajunrican.

About Me

I recently moved to Arlington, Texas with the hopes of applying and getting accepted to D.O. School (Doctor of Osteopathy) in Fort Worth. I spent this summer as a summer intern at Oregon State University's marine science center in Newport, Oregon doing science education research. Before my internship, I had spent the last 6 years living in Louisiana, where I eventually graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL) with a Biology degree.

At ULL, I became a tutor for the University's Learning Center. At the Learning Center, I was trained on how to adapt tutoring sessions for all kinds of learners. This allowed me to reach more students with their learning needs. After one semester of tutoring at the learning center, I became a College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) certified tutor, a certification I currently hold.

During my tutoring sessions, I make every effort to make the subject matter appeal to the student. I use anecdotes, drawings, and analogies to help students find the answer to their own questions. When a student leaves my tutoring sessions, they leave with confidence, grown interest in the subject matter, and a smile on their face after a good/fun study session!
