About Me
I am a recent alumnus of Trinity University, graduating in 2012. Upon graduation, I pursued a career as chef. As the years pressed on, I realized that I enjoyed teaching about the practices of cooking and its rich history more than working each night in a restaurant. Therefore, I want to earn my Texas teaching certification so that I can continue to teach. I know that I can make a difference as a high school English or Latin teacher. I want to spark the same passion that I have for learning in young students.
My previous dallas">tutoring experiences include helping fellow students to prepare for exams during my tenure at Trinity University. By facilitating different learning exercises, I helped my Latin classmates better comprehend the material. After graduation, I worked closely with a current Trinity professor to prepare and deliver a lecture covering food science and culture in the Greco-Roman world. Moreover, in my previous career as as a chef, I have experience guiding, teaching and mentoring entry-level cooks so that they may best succeed in their jobs. Together, these experiences help me to effectively dallas">tutor young students.
By attending Trinity University, I had the opportunity to experience the benefits of small classroom setting. I learned firsthand how a one-on-one learning experience can greatly improve a student's learning comprehension. Each Trinity professor recognized that every student interprets the subject matter in different ways and therefore, addressed their style of explanation accordingly. I approach dallas">tutoring in the same manner. I understand that students relate to subject materials in different ways; thus, I customize lesson plans to fit the need of the student. Furthermore, I believe that a teacher must possess a passion for the subject material. If the material excites the teacher, then the student becomes excited. The excitement is palatable.
