Fun Facts
I enjoy a wide array of different hobbies such as watching sports, especially football (Fly Eagles Fly), and reading fiction books. I am participating in a kickball league with my classmates this summer.
About Me
I am a Graduate Student at Nazareth College majoring in physical therapy. I received my undergraduate degree from Nazareth college as well of a BS in Health Sciences and minors in psychology and business management. I am also the Graduate Assistant for the Chemistry Department on campus. I have another year of classes before I will receive my Doctorate of Physical Therapy and will be able to do what I love and continue to help anyone I can.
Experience
During my undergrad at Nazareth College I was both a chemistry and physics workshop leader for 2 years each. This position required me to assist students in the class with any questions they had from class or homework as well as assist them as they worked through the different problems they were to complete. This allowed me to have the rewarding experience to learn and understand the different ways that can be most helpful and beneficial to individual students to learn and grow.
Approach
I've tried multiple different strategies to help me learn material in different classes. I found some strategies worked well in certain classes and not in others. When helping students, I believe it is important to go beyond going through the steps but understanding the concepts and information as that will translate to more long term comprehension.

Anatomy Physiology I Tutoring
I have taken both Anatomy Physiology I and II receiving an A in both classes. I helped my friends study and learn the material in this class. My physical therapy major constantly utilizes information from these classes to help rehabilitate our patients.

Kinesiology Tutoring
I took kinesiology in college my senior year and received an A in the class. Not only did I assist my fellow classmates during that class to help them learn the material, but I use the information from this class everyday as a physical therapy major. It applies to both of the neuromuscular and musculoskeletal clinics I am in on campus.
Physics I Tutoring
I took both Physics I and Physics II on campus and received an A in both of them. In addition, I taught physics workshop for 2 years helping students work through problems and teaching them ways to understand the material. Many students had difficulty with these classes but I was able to help them work through similar problems they would see on exams.

I took many different psychology classes in college receiving either an A or A- in all of them. I also have a minor in psychology. As a physical therapist it is very important to understand what our patients may also be going through mentally and emotionally to best be able to give them the most beneficial care. We look to treat the whole patient through a psycho-social model not only physical.
